Here at The Daily Post’s top-secret volcano island headquarters, we’ve been talking a lot about Zero to Hero — how to make it better, what comes next, and whether to issue retro-futuristic silver jumpsuits to all participants.
Thanks to your feedback and questions, we’ve got a lot of ideas! We thought you’d want to know what happens now:
-
The current Zero to Hero page will be coming down at the end of February. If you’re still working your way through it, you’ve got this week to finish, or feel free to copy and paste the assignments into a file of your own so you can wrap up at your own pace. We’ll be taking those assignments — and your suggestions — and revisiting the entire challenge to make it more focused and more helpful.
- A new “Blogging 201” challenge is coming in April. Lots of you were interested in a continued challenge, and many more experienced bloggers wanted something to push them further. Your wish is our command!
- The new and improved Zero to Hero will run again later in the spring, If you want to give it another try or learned about the original challenge too late to take part with the group, we’ll run another full version of Zero to Hero.
In the meantime, we’ll also be cooking up other challenges, courses, and resources to support your blogging goals.

I didn’t join Zero to Hero although I know other experienced bloggers did. Although I will be interested in seeing what you come up with. I could think of a few challenges so I’ll wait to see if any of our ideas are similar. And if there is anything new or to learn, I might even jump in!! It can’t be easy for you catering for many different levels of bloggers and nationalities, so thanks for trying to cater for those of us who have been around for a few years.

@michelle w. I think it’s a great idea, and lots of us previous zero to heroes have been hoping you would do something again. However, some of us whilst waiting have signed up and already progressed with some work in doing the A-Z challenge which is quite full on. Now I am in a total quandry, as I really don’t think I can cope with both, so one option, ditch the A-Z and all the hours work I have already put in to choosing a theme, writing and scheduling up all my posts and do the zero to hero and learn some more technical things to do which I need, or continue with the A-Z and miss out on learning more things to do, bleh couldn’t you have done this in May? LOLOL…..ducks head!

The next challenge doesn’t start until April, so I think you’ll be okay 🙂
Good luck with A to Z!

Ok, this really stinks..LOL Why did you schedule this the same month as the AtoZ Challenge? I already signed on with that one and can’t do both. I really like Zero to Hero…..bummed in Oregon 😦

None of these will be one-time things, so they’ll be offered again throughout 2014. No need to be bummed!

With those jumpsuits, all you need is the U.S.S. Enterprise and Scotty to beam you – and me- up for the fun challenges ahead.
Clearly, your efforts and those of others I’m sure, make WordPress an incredibly helpful, educational, and fun place to be in cyberspace! Thank you.

If I just save the post to my computer will that work, or do I have to actually copy and paste it into Word? Thanks for all your help and support. It’s really working! Sandra Earth’scrammedwith heaven- and every common bushafirewith God. E.B.B.

You can paste it into Word, or save the entire page as HTML, whatever you prefer. You just need to save it in a way that the content is saved on your computer, because a bookmark to the page won’t work — the page will be taken down.

Hey Michelle,
Would it be a problem for us to copy it onto a page on our blog and share? I don’t want to infringe on any copyrights or anything but I also think it’s a great program and would love to share it with my readers until the replacement is available.
Cheers,
Lumi
