    1. I think it looks beautiful. Nice work. The only thing I found distracting is how the tags for each post are listed just below the title. Is there a way to move them? That’s a small thing, just would look “cleaner” with them at the bottom.
      Lovely blog.

  1. To say I’m a new blogger would be an understatement. I recently started putting my world into story form through my blog. It was initially meant to be an extension of our online business but I discovered that I had no interest in writing about fashion, etc. When I started to jot down little stories and memories that I loved, suddenly it was a fun little past time. The look of the site itself isn’t right yet, but I’d love a little insight.
    Here’s a typical post.
    Is it too long?
Is it anything you would want to read?
I appreciate an constructive criticism you may have.

  3. Hey everyone 🙂
I recently started a blog because I have aspirations of escaping the daily rat race through writing. I’d like to become a freelance writer, and I understand that in order to do so, you need to create a platform to refer potential clients to. I have 4 posts up with more to come hopefully now that I’m on winter break. It’d be awfully nice of you to swing by and check it out, and maybe give me some input! If you’d like me to check yours out as well, then let me know. Thanks!

    1. I jioned the wordpress.com site last night at the insistance of one of my kid’s friends. She knows I’m an avid reader as well as a writer. I like to write fiction, and poetry. I’m looking for ideas that will help me keep motivated in my writing because it is one of my best and favorite hobbies but I often neglect it because of all of my other responsibilities! Mayhap I will start posting my poetry here … if I decide to brave the criticism. People can be so harsh in these venues!

    1. I enjoyed your selfie post Paula 🙂 You do a good job of keeping your paragraphs short for the attention span of the casual reader, and critically analyzing your subject matter. Keep it up!

    2. Like what you’re doing here. My only thought might be to let yourself enter the posts a little more. These are very personal for an academic paper but they are too academic for a personal conversation. If that makes sense.

Then again, if you’re going for academic. Rock it. Damn fine job. 🙂

      1. Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks so much for your advice.
I definitely know what you mean. I try not to make them too personal as these posts also go onto goldengirlfinance.com. But I recognize it is a tricky thing to balance the two writing styles and will keep that in mind!

    3. I think you have a nice balance of informal and informative, although I agree with other comments that a more personal element might add something to your posts.

    1. Hey, checked out your site and my main comment I have is…I’m very confused. Your layout doesn’t have a way to see things in order..so it appears it is an ongoing story on your site, but I can’t start at the beginning without massive scrolling.

      1. Thank you for taking the time to look!
I added something to where you can look at the specific piece of artwork by clicking a link in my about, and I hope that makes it easier to follow.
Thank you again for your input, it helped me tons!

  5. Hi Everyone. I would really appreciate some feedback on my blog in general. It has been going some time although has not always been used as much as it is today. It tends to be a personal blog about stuff in my life, things I liked and find interesting etc. There is a writing thing I do every Monday too but even so I am not sure that I am 100% happy with it, perhaps it needs some sort of alternative focus. Anyways would appreciate comments on your thoughts, thanks S

    1. I love the final paragraph of your post from December 14th, you seem talented as a descriptive writer. It feels intensely personal, don’t feel like you have to get carried away with writing to fulfil criteria. Let your emotions out, because it is beautiful.

      1. Thank you. I do feel like sometimes to tend to get carried away, trying too hard even. I’ll try and be more aware of when I am doing that.

  6. Hey, I just recently started a blog because I wanted a way to expand my creativity skills. I am an artist and already am proficient in painting, drawing, etc. I have always had an interest in writing and kept a journal but never posted anything publicly. I am trying to broaden my range of creativity as far as I can. So if you would please visit my blog and let me know how the content and design layout are, it would be greatly appreciated. Also if you would please let me know via my blog lanawade.wordpress.com. Thanks.

    1. It seems absolutely fine. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of plain speaking. Management advice can sometimes be a bit on the woolly side, so this is refreshingly clear.

  10. Hi Community Pool! Apologies if I’m the last one to post, but I still hope someone comes by and reads this. I have illustrations and photos on my blog and recently I have been trying to find a right balance for cross-processing. So briefly: do you think this
