The Community Pool is for those of you looking for input, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else. If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Read on for the ground rules and to leave a comment . .
- You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- No running on the deck.

Hi all! Looking for feedback on my blog. I moved it from Blogger because I didn’t like it much and I’m very happy with WordPress, but I don’t seem to be able to get the follows and interest that I would like (other than the NaNo Prep article. That one got almost 100 hits a day for 2 weeks straight). I’ll take any advice you can offer. Thanks! http://tashadriver.wordpress.com

Hello fellow bloggers! I am new to WordPress and the blogging world and I could use some input on my page. I would like to focus on Latino cuisine, new take on the old school recipes we love. Thanks in advance!

I began using wordpress as a way to eternalize my writings dealing with my long unmedicated depression as I began using anti-depressants. However, now I would like to use wordpress to receive feedback on my posts. My main question for anyone who will take the time to read a couple is: do my writings lack understanding? That is to say, do my posts make sense to you, the reader, because in the end that is all that matters. Cagedburdfreed.wordpress.com

Actually I would question the idea that the only thing that matters if posts make sense to OTHER people. What about using your blog for YOURSELF? Do your writings help YOU? I’m trying to work out something personal on my blog, too, and although I hugely appreciate it when people like my posts or follow me, it’s mostly for myself. Often, the posts that helped me the most get no response at all, and sometimes my light toss-off posts get likes… and that’s fine. Just a thought. See if that’s helpful to you.

What you say is very true, honestly I think it was just poor wording on my part. My writings have helped me greatly. Demi-God and Surrounded were actually written by me during a pretty intense anxiety attack. They each deal with different symptoms I was experiencing and helped to relieve them miraculously. With a dream of pursuing a writing career, however, I would like to know if my posts are understandable to people who do not know the context of my life. The coherency of my posts are what truly matters to me is what I should have said. I could receive no likes on a post and be happy, but I posted in the community pool to see if people could relate or understand where I was coming from or going through fluently. Thanks for your input though! It is always great to talk to someone else who receives healing through words.

Oh, I see what you mean. Well, one thing that might help is if you structured your posts so that they have a more definite beginning, middle, and end in a more formal way (a message/point/thesis). The other thing that occurred to me is that descriptions of dreams usually don’t make sense to other people because they weren’t there, so to speak. Keep at it!

That’s a great idea! Never thought of it in a more of an essay form. I will attempt that with one of my next ideas I have swimming around my brain! Thanks so much!! But ya the dreams were more to calm my nerves, because like I said in the posts, they were true. You’ve been more help than you can imagine! Appreciate it!

Hey there! What you have put up on the blog so far is nice. I’d suggest to add a ‘About me’ section for your readers to know who you are and why you write. Good luck

As a brand spankin’ new blogger, I just wanted some brief feedback on the layout of my blog and posts. I’ll take any formatting, grammar, or blog criticism you have for me. Also, do you have any tips for helping to kick start a blog? Any way to interest a few more readers?

I found it difficult to navigate your blog – not sure what the squares mean and the plus sign and all that – but probably that has something to do with your blog being so new. Or maybe my computer being so old. Or me being so old! At one point I ended up with two parallel vertical menus that looked identical. Sorry I couldn’t understand the navigation enough to comment on content.

Hi Nikita! Very artful twist on the subject of freedom, and outstanding graphic as well. Where did you get it, or did you make it? The most memorable thing about the post for me was your encounter with the butterfly.

Ok, I did a blog post aimed at the single lady. It was a fun and light-hearted piece about utilising Photoshop in order to fantasise about meeting Mr Right. And it completely bombed! If anyone would like to read it, please feel free and let me know your thoughts?
Thanks 🙂

Hello everyone,
I started blogging a few days ago. I had one many years ago but the time got in the way. Being back has really made me realise just how awesome it is to put your thoughts down on paper, so to speak! Also, I like my style of writing much better nowadays too.
I would love to know your thoughts,

It didn’t seem rusty at all to me, so I think you are doing fine. It had structure and clarity. It got its point across using an anecdote well. Keep at it!
