Community Pool

The Community Pool is for those of you looking for input, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else. If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Read on for the ground rules and to leave a comment . . .

  • You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I’m also trying to expand the network on twitter. I hope that will take a bit of time. Give your time to other mates on twitter and they will do the rest.

      1. Thank you so much! I really have so much to say about everything that happened in my life in the last years. I feel that this move to another country saved me from a life of negativity. Look for a new blog soon.

      2. I will follow your blog if you follow mine. I still would like to know where we see our followers. I have many but can not find them on my dashboard. Michele

      3. Thanks, I just looked again and it is all wrong about my stats. I know this by the followers that sign up through email and the comments. If anyone knows how this is discovered on the computer not on mobile I would appreciate it. I do not have a mobile app as I live in South America and we are behind with that stuff here.

    1. You shouldn’t even try to bother, cos you know people, always trying to get a peak at other lives and they have beliefs as you do. Take care of your kid and be great.

Why they say is because, as a 19yr old mum, you wouldn’t be knowing a looooot of things, so in a way they care for you on how you are going to cope up.

  6. If anyone would like to check out my blog, I would greatly appreciate it. I am new to blogging and would like opinions on my layout, writing style (not sure if I have one really), and anything else you would like to comment on! Thanks 🙂

      1. Sorry bout that! I hit the wrong button! Let’s try this again. Hi there. I like the amount of pictures you used in your daily prompt post. My only suggestion for you is to engage with your commenters a little more. I usually try to respond to every comment I get when starting a new blog. Eventually (and ideally) it will become overwhelming to reply to all the comments, but I think it should be manageable for ya.

      2. So apparently, my comment didn’t post- again! I meant to say that I like the amount of pictures you use and that the only thing I would suggest is replying to every comment you get, at least at the beginning. 🙂

  9. Hello All,
Last week I read a post on Matt walsh blog about homeschooling children rather that putting them through public schools. I hope most of you would have read it. But I strongly feel that it as a misconception and that educating others or our kids as a whole is a falsity and fatal to the community and the person himself.

So, I ask my fellow bloggers to pour in their opinions about the topic, so I can clear myself if there’s any wrong with it.

    Here it is : http://thevastnothing.wordpress.com/2013/10/26/my-rebuttal-to-matt-walsh-on-why-we-dont-need-education/

    Thankyou.

  10. What are peoples thoughts on the timing of publishing your posts?

I schedule my posts to publish at 7am local time so that it’s in peoples Facebook feeds for their morning check.

      1. Good question! I should have explained that infographic a little, my apologies. It’s based on traffic patterns. The times listed are when the people are the most active on facebook. That means, not just signed in, but sharing posts and interacting- supposedly. No idea the measure of reliability in Pandemic Lab’s research. Here’s a link with a bit more about it http://allfacebook.com/watchtower-pandemic-labs_b117689

  11. I posted a cry for help but no one cares,
    A voice crying in the wilderness, no one hears;
I have to resign to my self and my teddy bear,
Till some kind soul takes pity and empathy to share!

  12. HI EVERYONE, I AM NEW TO THIS BLOG SCENE AND WAS WONDERING IF I COULD ASK A QUICK QUESTION: I LOVE LEARNING KNEW BUT WHAT I ENJOY EVEN MORE IS RECEIVING OTHERS PERCEPTIONS ON THE SAME TOPIC. WOULD IT BE SAFE TO POST DEBATABLE BLOGS THAT WOULD CALL MORE TO OTHERS OPINIONS THEN JUST A SIMPLE PUSH OF THE LIKE BUTTON

    1. Anwser to your question – Yes. I think that some people would like to “argue” with you or read your opinion and write an anwser.
But on other topic. Please never write in caps lock all the text. It looks awful and I have no further interest in visiting your blog cause of fright i might stubmle upon all the blog writed in caps and i could not stand it 🙂

    1. Writing overall is good. Nice theme.
Not the blog i would read. Scrolled couple of your posts and read about the books. Nice reviews but I think that you should add more your own opinion about the book (not just copy-paste summaries).
Don’t think that I would subscribe to your blog because it’s too much “girlie stuff” 🙂 I don’t care about dresses and make up… soo… yeah 🙂
But I think that it is worth continuing 🙂

  14. Hello fellow bloggers! I would love to hear some feedback on my site. I am fairly new at this and I just made some changes to make my site look a little bit better. I am seriously technically challenged when it comes to web design. I’m stumbling my way through widgets, themes and appearance. Any advice or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Nice blog, good writing, keeps reading 🙂
But the design. Ehh… I am really sorry but the blue backgroung makes my eyes burn and the banner (the picture you have on top of site) is quite making me want to close the tab and never re-open again 🙂 Make it somehow smoother. More neutral is good.
Also make font somehow more readable.

  15. I’ve just started blogging, but i’ve already come across a lot of interesting posts. It’s a cross-section of people from all over the world. So I get to learn more, because personal experiences can tell you a lot about different cultures, as opposed to overly generalized made-for-tourists brochures.
I’m in two minds about the theme I chose for my blog. I’m not sure if a dark theme is the right fit.
