The Community Pool is for those of you looking for input, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else. If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Read on for the ground rules and to leave a comment . . .

  • You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.

  1. Hi guys… so I’m very new to the blogging world but I was hoping you would tell me if I/m doing it right. I was just wondering if it’s any good. It’s going to be a bit of a mix between a writing blog and a personal blog.
You gotta’ give me something, I’m dying here!
Oh and thank-you in advance xx

  2. Great idea! I’m always looking for constructive criticism… I’m curious if anyone would find my blog interesting. I started doing this as a way to get my thoughts out, how inappropriate they may be. It’s a work in progress, so be gentle.

  3. Can someone tell me how to get the “Press This” bookmarklet? I saw it somewhere before, but now I can’t find it!

  4. Hello, I would like your feedback on my blog: drmr11.wordpress.com

Is there anything I should change, add, delete to make it better? Are my articles, quotes, images good enough?

  5. Just started my blog on “How to earn money” from Craigslist. Thought it would be good for those who need to find a way to make some extra money. Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks

  6. This is the prologue to my new book. The rest of the book is nothing like this little story and I was second guessing myself as to whether to include it or not. It does set a scene of what it is like to have bought a house in a neighborhood that you feel you don’t belong in, having been burgled by your neighbors.

Also interested in your thoughts about including the read time of a blog in the title. Thanks:)

  7. I’ve written my first post Last friday. From the feedback I received on Twitter it appears I’m headed in the right direction. However,I could use some input, suggestions and Tips from other bloggers. Any feedback would be glady appreciated :).

  8. Anyone with a design eye? I’m slowly cleaning up and tweaking my blog design with the css and font upgrade. I would like to change the header font but can’t decide which one to choose. I have a serif font in my header image and the nav bar font is sans serif. Which font will bring it all together (and still stand out – some fonts I’ve tried out disappear in H2 format). Feedback appreciated. http://mycustardpie.com/

  9. Hi.
I am brand new to blogging, and I have quite diverse interests that I want to talk about. But what I’d like to know is, do you think it is a bad idea to be too diverse? For example I intend to write about astronomy and education, but also travel, and budget style; will those who enjoy one but not the other find it annoying to get irrelevant posts and so not follow me? I want to post to each subject weekly, so that I had, e.g. Style Saturday, Travel Tuesday, etc.

    1. My personal opinion is that you should not mix up things which makes the visitors confused in searching for their interests. If you are starting out now, you could stick to a specific interest and add more topics once you get a good following.
Else you could have different blogs for meeting your diverse needs.

  10. Hello All,

I have just one concern. I have started blogging for less than a month and i am sure that getting traffic is a hard slow process. But how should i go about getting comments or feedback from the visitors?

    1. Hi, I think for having an engaged audience the first thing you should know is who is your target audience, for example I post about my travels and photography. Next thing you should do is find people with similar interests. Follow them or comment on their blogs this will for sure make them come to your blog and if they find it interesting they will definitely follow you. 🙂
