Community Pool

The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  2. Good evening bloggers! If you have not already had the chance to, please stop by and check out my blog. I am a new writer and now self published author. WordPress has been my back bone for the last year and has successfully provided a fantastic platform for me to launch my debut thriller, A Hole in Serenity. It would be great to hear from you all so please do stop by and say hi! Take care, Mark.

  3. Hey guys! I had a great experience on here last time so here goes again. I have 2 posts that are very different. One is for humor with a few memes and the other is for Marvel fans to learn more about the Superhero Balck Panther. Both are part of their own series, so I would like feedback about layout, content quality, etc. Thanks in advance!

  5. Hi guys! A new post went up today! (I might/might not have gotten an award.)
If you want to check out a site that has a random Indian trying to juggle writing (she’s really trying) and her ever failing attempts at yoga, YOU. SHOULD. CHECK. IT. OUT.

    1. I read and commented. One thing I’m wondering is if your format is mobile responsive? It isn’t on my iPhone. Loved your recent post about your child preparing to move out.

      1. I appreciate your comments! I checked with WordPress helpdesk and they were able to access and it was responsive. So not too sure why you are having issues. Thank you for the encouragement too!

      2. It’s responsive in that I can view it, but it doesn’t show a mobile version when loaded outside of the WordPress app. Maybe it is just my phone. Choosing a template with a mobile version has been really important to my blog views so I have found. Again, it may just be something wacky with my phone.

  8. I wrote this post last night. I am attempting to post some stories I heard growing up. They are true stories! I would love feedback, and feel free to proofread for me! Luvs ya!

    1. I’m an atheist and have just read your post. Whilst I can’t connect on a spiritual level personally I think you write well and it is clear you are passionate! I’m not religious myself but I think it is great that you are sharing your positive message with others who can relate!

      Have a great day!

      1. Thanks for the feedback. I’m still playing with my writing and approach.

In order for something to reach you do you feel all mention of God should be left out or do you think that some writing still has value to you whether God is mentioned or not? Honest perspective is appreciated! Thanks!

      2. I’ll be honest as soon as religion is mentioned I get put off a little as it isn’t something that I connect with. I don’t think I would mind small amounts but sometimes it can be a bit much for me. On the other hand sometimes it can be interesting when people explain their beliefs and culture and how religion has affected them. I don’t know does that sound really contradictory 😂

      3. No it makes sense. It sounds like you are more inclined to hear about religion if it’s from a personal perspective? Because it can help you understand an individual or culture? That’s what I’m getting from it. That may be a wrong assessment. Maybe I just want that to be your meaning since I have recently made my blog more personal lol.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I’m open to any of your thoughts if you choose to share. Thanks again!

      4. Yeah I think it’s always interesting too see what different people believe and how religion affects them! Although I’m not religious I think live and let live and let anyone believe in what they like as long as it is positive! 😄
