Clearly I can’t count – what can’t you do?

Topic #347:

As the number above points out, my skills at counting leave much to be desired. As there are 365 days in a year, I’m 8 topics short for offering you a topic a day for the entire year How lame – I’m hanging my head in shame right now (Before you tell me it should be 9, remember there’s one more for tomorrow).

But this does offer us a good topic for the day: what ordinary skill are you bad at? Maybe its tying your shoelaces, or parallel parking cars, but we all have something very simple that we just don’t do very well. Write about yours.

  1. I don’t know stuff that seems simple and that everyone should know. I just am blank.

And I can’t tell you what stuff I don’t know because it only comes up when someone else says it or asks it and I say……… huh?

  2. I have just been writing about something I’ve never been able to do – I can’t sew or knit to save my life! I would have failed home ec class in 8th grade if I hadn’t had help from a friend’s mom. If I absolutely have to sew on a button, I’ll do that, but beyond that, I either give it to the dry cleaners to mend or get rid of it!

  3. It’s 18 topics short, not 8. I actually noticed a long time ago that you were reusing numbers, but I didn’t mention it to see what your reaction was at the end of the year. Apparently you repeated that error 17 more times.

Also, I like how you forgot to post a topic on the last day of 2011.

  4. I find it REALLY difficult to be patient enough to let my kids make and learn from their own mistakes without weighing in with advice or direction from Dad when I see them going down what I think is the wrong path.

  5. Well, I too am hoping that you will continue this with the 2012 365/6 edition. I just only found you here, and don’t want to go this a blog a day thing alone.

I can’t and won’t even try parallel parking, I’ll drive around the block 30 times or park down the road and walk.

  10. A bit difficult to focus on a certain ability I’m not good at…there is plenty of them. But seeing you mentioned it first. My counting skills are dire too and get me into all sort of scrapes. Iv’e got to really focus when dialling a telephone number or the person I wanted to speak to won’t be on the other end of the line. Absolutely awful.
