Topic #295:
We all have experiences where after we leave a conversation, or a date ends, we realize something clever we wish we had said.
The French call this l’esprit de l’escalier, which means, roughly, staircase wit (as in, you get the idea for something to say only when you are in the staircase, heading home).
Can you recall moments in your life, at work or at home, where you realize now there was something else you wish you had said? Or done? Make a list.

I can make a looong list of thinks I wish I hadn’t said.

Scott, just out of curiosity – What do the tags ‘coffee’, ‘genetics’, ‘shakespeare’ got to do with this post ? 🙂
Maybe you are symbolically saying that tags are no longer important and search engines are not considering them much?

I love you mum and always will. She died in 1968. I did not know her really well, she was an opera singer and like to be busy most of the time.

It would be a really, really, really long list . . . more like a separate blog.
Hm. Come to think of it, on average, the thing I most wish I had said is only 2 words long. It begins with an “F” and has the word “you” in it somewhere. I leave the rest to everyone’s imagination.

Really interested in what everyone replies to this: I’m in the process of designing a website where it’s what you said versus what you wanted to say. Let me know if you want to add content. I’m looking for:
1. What you said.
2. What you wanted to say.
3. Who you wanted to say it to.
4. How did you feel.
Thanks and feel free to message me if you’re interested!
