Bio
Crystal Higgs attended an urban elementary, middle, and high school located in the tenth largest school district in the nation. As a former urban learner, she shares many commonalities with the urban high school students that she serves on a daily basis. After receiving her Undergraduate Degree from the University of Central Florida in English, Crystal returned to the same school district where she has taught for the past six years. During her quest to provide the best instruction for her urban students, she returned to school and received her Master of Science in Urban Studies Education and her Educational Specialist Degree in English from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Additionally, Crystal also serves urban learners attending post-secondary career and technical colleges in Orlando, Florida for the past three years and counting. Her experience in the classroom and research efforts has led her to share best practices with urban educators throughout the nation.
