URL Redirecting Problem
-
Hi,
I am using an external program called Reciprocal Manager to build my directory list. I have used Permalinks to create a http://www.ssblogging.com/directory page first. I then installed that program under the folder of directory at my root. Within the directory folder there is an index page. Therefore, whenever I click on link for the directory page in my blog. It automatically served up http://www.ssblogging.com/directory/index.html.
However, apparently Google is a bit confused and not indexing http://www.ssblogging.com/directory/index.html but indexed http://www.ssblogging.com/directory instead.
How do I get around this problem? I want Google to index http://www.ssblogging.com/directory/index.html.
So far what I can think of is:
1. Nofollow the http://www.ssblogging.com/directory in my blog and send other links to my http://www.ssblogging.com/directory/index.html so Google can pick up without any confusion. However, I don’t know how to do that?
2. Rewrite the http://www.ssblogging.com/directory to http://www.ssblogging.com/directory/index.html. I don’t know how to do that neither. Can any techi help?

You need to be asking at WordPress.org. We’re all blogs hosted by WordPress.com on a shared blogging platform, so our software is very different and I’m afraid we can’t help you.
