upgrade payment attempts fail

  We are a community group. We have tried using our debit card and even opened a PayPal account in order to upgrade to the Personal Plan and get a domain name. However, all our attempts to pay are rejected. How can we upgrade?

  Do you see any error messages when you try to upgrade? If so, please paste the exact error message into your reply. Also, did you use the same card in PayPal?

  Once I know more, I’ll look into this for you.

  Here’s the PayPal error message:
  Sorry, we weren’t able to complete your payment or set up preapproved payments at this time. Please return to the merchant and choose another way to pay.

  Here’s the debit card error message:
  The transaction was declined. Please try another card.

  Oops, forgot to answer part of your question. The debit card and the PayPal accounts both link to the same checking account, but we didn’t enter the debit card info in PayPal, just checking account info.

  Hi there, Payments can only be accepted by the following methods, even if it all goes through PayPal:

  For payment, we accept all major credit and debit cards, and you can also pay directly through your PayPal account.

  We cannot accept checks, cash, purchase or money orders, or any payment that must be mailed, and we cannot accept payment over the phone.

  Hi academynorthneighborhood,

  There are no failed payments attempts on our system which suggests your bank or credit card company may be blocking the transaction. Please contact them and ask if that’s the case. If so, you can request they remove the block.

  Let me know how you get on and what your bank say.
