  I’ve just received my yearly report and this old wordpress blog. To my surprise, despite no new posts in ages, the blog is generating a good number of hits. If I wanted to start working on the blog again and place ads on it, what would I need to do? Would it get a new new address if I upgraded to the paid version? Would I lose my current page views? I’m just a bit confused about how to move beyond the free version. Any direction you could give me would be helpful.

  Move to a self-hosted website. User initiated advertising is not permitted here.

  With enough traffic, you might (possibly, maybe) qualify for WordAds.

  So even the upgraded version here doesn’t allow for ads?

  The VIP version does, but it costs several thousand dollars to set up and, I believe, over $2000 a month to maintain. CNN for example has a VIP blog.

  I’ve also seen that the Enterprise version does, but that starts at $500/mo.
