Translate Block?
-
The Twenty Twenty-Two default theme no longer supports widgets, and – as many of my followers cannot read English – I’ve looked without success for a way to add a Google Translate block?
Any help is appreciate, thanks.

Hi there!
Maybe going back to Twenty Twenty One? It allows you to add widgets in the footer:
https://wordpress.com/theme/twentytwentyone.If you’d like to add widgets to the sidebar, you may want to consider using one of the older themes:
https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/right-sidebar/.
If there’s a particular language that you’d like to translate your site to, there are some other ways to create a multilingual site:

Hi @staff-mckluskey
I misspoke, and see that there is a collection of widgets available as blocks, though no Google Translate.
I appreciate your reply & suggestions, thank you.

The Google Translate widget was offered by Google and they retired their service to it well over a year ago, so while it still works as a widget on non-full site editing sites, there’s not going to be a “block” for this particular widget.
So you would need to find an alternative for translations or use an older theme as we suggested previously.
Hope that clarifies things.

Yes, for now I’ll be sticking with the Twenty Twenty-One theme, one of my favorites.
If in the near future I were to use an FSE theme, however, what “alternative for translations” does WordPress offer users?
Thanks.
