Featured images on coffee-tactics.com are likely missing from your homepage because of a display setting in your theme’s Customizer or a conflict with a Lazy Loading plugin. Even if you have uploaded an image into the post itself, WordPress requires you to specifically assign it as the “Featured Image” in the post editor’s sidebar for it to appear in the homepage grid. To fix this, navigate to Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blog/Archive and ensure that the “Featured Image” element is toggled to visible and not hidden by a strikethrough icon. If the settings appear correct but the images remain invisible, try deactivating any performance plugins like Jetpack or WP Rocket that might be incorrectly delaying the image load, and ensure your theme isn’t set to “Summary” mode, which sometimes strips all media from the homepage feed.

  • Hi @cateewangari,

I checked your site and noticed that there was no featured image added to the Post template used for this section. Please edit the front page again and then check the Post template section to include the Featured Image.

I see that the placeholder where the image is supposed to be was added via a css class ‘service-img-box’ on the Group block. You can check that also in case there is a formatting issue.

If you need additional help regarding this, please let us know.

    Hi Catee,

If your featured images aren’t showing on the homepage, it’s usually related to one of these common causes:

    1. Theme settings
Some themes don’t automatically display featured images on the blog homepage. Check:

    • Customize → Homepage Settings
    • Customize → Blog / Layout settings
Look for an option like “Show Featured Image” or “Display Post Thumbnails.”

    2. Posts page vs static page
If your homepage is set to a static page instead of “Your latest posts,” the featured image may not appear unless the theme supports it.
Go to: Settings → Reading and confirm how your homepage is configured.

    3. Featured image not properly set
Make sure each post has a featured image assigned in the post editor (not just inserted inside the content).

    4. Image size / cropping issue
Some themes require a minimum image size. If the image is too small, it may not display in archive views.

    5. Caching issue
Clear your browser cache and refresh. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear that as well.

  • Hi @cateewangari,

The steps shared by James, Adetol, and dawnworldhub should resolve the issue.

Please try them and let us know if your featured image is still not displaying correctly.

If it continues, share the page URL and we will take another look.
