How switch DNS from custom to WordPress.com? I get Validation error
-
A credit card problem caused an issue with domain payments but that has been resolved. All domains are fully paid. One domain was ok but the second now points to searchhounds.com. The free help AI said to set the dns from “custom” to wordpress.com. But when I switch it on, it turns off with a “validation error”. How do I change the DNS? or fix the problem preventing me to use WordPress.com dns?

The “Validation Error” you are encountering is likely due to a registry lock or a verification hold that was placed on the domain during the period when the payment was lapsed. When a domain points to a parked page like “searchhounds.com,” it usually indicates that the Name Servers have been reset to a default provider, and WordPress.com cannot pull them back automatically until the domain’s status is “Active” at the registry level. Please check your email for a WHOIS verification link that may have been sent when you settled the debt, as failing to click this can block DNS changes. If you don’t see one, you will need to contact WordPress.com support directly and ask them to “manually re-provision the DNS zone” for liturgyresource.org; this is a backend fix that bypasses the validation error and forces the domain to reconnect to your site.

Hi @leeknoch,
I checked the domain and found that it is suspended due to a pending verification. I’ve resent the verification email to you. Please check the inbox or spam/junk folder of the email address listed in your domain contact information and complete the verification.
Once the domain is verified, you’ll be able to change the nameservers.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
