  A spam comment has appeared on one of my posts and I can’t get rid of it. For some reason it has not appeared in the filter for me to delete as spam usually does.

  Annoyingly though it has appeared in the sidebar where there is a widget for comments, right at the top of the list (Tresa – Contrition).

  I have reported the spam to the site it links to, but how do I get rid of this from my blog?

  You can mark any comment as Spam or Trash here > Dashboard > Comments > hover over the comment and click the appropriate link.

  P.S. Widgets display cached data. The action center is you Dashboard. Not the widget.

  That’s fine now.

  Do we know how the spammers have dramatically increased their success rate?

  I guess they are paying peanuts to people in the third world for data entry?

  At least if one must do something like this, could it not be with style?

  Just gibberish, do people really buy on the basis of that kind of advert?
