Account email change

    I want to change my account email address from an old address to my current Gmail address, but when I did that, it said the email was already in use. I logged into WordPress with my Gmail account and deleted that account, which should have freed it up to transfer to. Unfortunately, it’s still saying the Gmail account is in use when I try to change the address. Is there anything else I need to do to get the account email address changed?

    Hi there,

    When an account is closed on WordPress.com we allow you 30 days to reverse your decision. Because of this the email address for your closed account is still “taken” by the other account until 30 days have passed.

    After that point we will purge our servers of the other account, and you can use the email address for this one instead.
