Photos

Photos is an image-centric WordPress theme with a clean layout, designed to help you showcase your favorite images.

Photos is mobile-friendly, and offers an excellent online photo viewing experience, regardless of whether your clients and fans visit your website on a laptop, smartphone, or tablet.

Featured Images

Photos uses Featured Images to create a three-column grid on the blog, archives, and search results pages. By default, the Content Options are set to automatically use the first image in a post as a fallback on posts that don’t have a featured image. Posts without any images will be displayed as a block of solid color in the grid.

Content Options

Featured Images can be displayed on blog posts, in archives, and on pages, but are disabled by default for posts and pages to avoid displaying images twice when used with the “Automatically use first image in post” setting in Customize → Content Options.

When featured images are enabled on posts and pages, they display wider than the rest of the written content, to help them stand out.

Site Logo

Photos supports a Site Logo, which appears above the site title and tagline. To set a logo, navigate to Customize → Site Identity and upload an image from your computer. After the image is uploaded, you can adjust the size of the logo using the Logo Size control to fit your design.

If your logo includes your site’s name or you only want to display your logo in the header, you can hide the default Site Title and Tagline by unchecking “Display Site Title and Tagline” in the Site Identity panel.

Custom Header

The Custom Header Image in Photos sits below the header and above the content. To set a header image, navigate to Customize → Header Image and choose one of our default header images, or upload your own!

Custom Menus

Photos has a Custom Menu area for your site’s main navigation, which can display multiple nested sub-menus. To add items to the menu:

1. Go to Customize → Menus.
2. If you haven’t already, create a menu and select the “Primary” menu location.

Social Links Menu

Photos also has a Social Links Menu in the site footer. Linking to your social media pages will automatically display its icon in your menu. See the list of supported icons.

Widgets

Photos has one widget area above the site footer which you can configure via Customize → Widgets. Any widgets there will automatically be arranged into three columns, to best fill the space.

Photos is based off of our premium theme, Photo Blog, which has more features and added flexibility.
