How to Make Your Blog Look Like the Pinboard Demo
Pinboard includes several nifty theme options to help you customize the look and feel of your site.
Setup your Homepage
To customize Pinboard, simply go to Customize → Theme Options. From there, you will be able to choose different post layout options: small, medium, and large grid. The Pinboard demo has it set to “medium” as a layout option.
The next option is to be able to choose if you want your sidebar to be displayed to the left or right of your main content.
Want to add a “welcome message” to your blog? Simply fill out the text field under the “Welcome Message” option. This will be displayed on your homepage. Once done, be sure to save your changes.
Display Comment Count
Enabling the “Comment Count” option will show the total number of comments for a post. This will be displayed on the homepage of each post.
Custom Header and Background
If Theme Options doesn’t quench your thirst for customizability, Pinboard also supports custom headers and backgrounds. You can configure a flexible-width or -height custom header by going to Customize → Header Image.
Likewise, you can add your own background image by going to Customize → Colors & Backgrounds.
Pinboard includes one sidebar that can be placed either to the right or left of your content, and up to three additional sidebars in the footer. Configure these areas by going to Customize → Widgets.
