The Info Page

To set up the Kiore Moana info page and info button (and include all your widgets there), you need to create a new page with any page title you like and choose the Template → Info Page Template in the “Page Attributes”. You should also deactivate the comments and pingbacks in the Discussion setting. If you don’t see the Discussion setting in your page admin area right away, you might need to activate it first via the “Screen Options” button on the top right of your page admin area.

After publishing your new page, you can copy the Page URL (the permalink) and paste it in Appearance → Customizer / Theme Options → Info Page URL. Your Info Page button and your (at the moment still empty) info page will now be visible on your blog. Now you can add some widgets to the Info page under Appearance → Widgets.

Info Page Widgets

To include widgets to your Info page just add any number of available widgets to the Main Widget Area under Appearance → Widgets. You can add the Kiore Moana About widget, the Social Links widget, a Featured Video widget and of course all WordPress standard widgets to your Info page.

The Kiore Moana About Widget

To include an About widget you need to prepare an About image first and upload it to your blog via Media → Add New. The dimensions of the image are flexible, in the Kiore Demo, the image used is a 320 x 320px transparent PNG. Now, you can copy your Image URL and paste it into the About widget option. You also need to add your image width and height. As text options you can include a subtitle and your main about text.

The Kiore Moana Social Links Widget with Icons

With the Kiore Moana social links widgets you have a beautiful option to link to your social profiles like Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Vimeo and many more on your info page. You can just paste the URLs of the social profiles you want to use into the widget options and save your settings.

Custom Menus

Under Appearance → Menus you can set up custom menus for the Footer Navigation (always visible on the Kiore Moana blog and info page) and an optional Info Page Navigation. The Info Page menu needs to be activated via a custom menu widget at the top of your main widget area.

You can create your custom menus by adding any number of custom links, pages, categories, tags, post formats or posts and save them to your created menus. If you drag the included menu items to the right, you can also create sub menus (no sub menus are supported in the footer navigation). Now you can choose which saved menu to use in your theme via the “Menu Settings” at the bottom of each custom menu.

To include a Back to Top link to your footer menu, just create a custom link, paste #doc in the URL and give it a title of “Back to Top”.

Custom Background

To customize the main background color (the default color is white) you can go to Appearance → Background and either choose your own color or upload your own background image. By default the background color should be of a lighter color or image, so that the dark font color will still be visible.

If you want to have more color options and also change the info page background color or font color you can try out the Premium Custom Design upgrade. You can preview all the options, before purchasing the upgrade.

Using the Post Formats

The Kiore Moana theme supports all WordPress post formats:

Aside, Video, Audio, Gallery, Image, Status, Quote, Link and Chat

For Link Posts you can just include a single link in your post and add the CSS class “link” to the a tag like in this example:

<a href="YourLinkURLHere" class="link">Your Link Text</a>

For a Quote you can use the b-quote button in the HTML text editor or the quote button in the visual text editor and wrap your quote around a “blockquote” tag. To show also the quote author, you can wrap the author name with link in a cite tag, like in this code example:

<blockquote>Your quote here.
<cite>by <a href="">Quote Author Name</a></cite>

The Aside post format is great for short notes and news. Status posts are short notes similar to tweets and will have a bigger, non-serif font. In image posts you can include a single image with the max. width of 1160 pixels.

The image and image gallery post formats are great for photography blogs. For gallery posts just include pictures with the media button as a gallery. The option “Tiled Mosaic” gallery option look especially nice to feature your gallery posts.

For a Chat Post you need to add a ul list with the CSS class of “chat” to your posts and then add the class “odd” and “even” to your li elements like in the following example:

<ul class="chat">
<li class="odd">First Person is saying... </li>
<li class="even">Second Person is saying...</li>
