Sticky posts on a Kent-powered site get a special treatment that makes them stand out a little more. To make them stick, edit your post, and then in the Publish box press the ‘edit’ link and then tick the ‘Stick this post to the front page’.
Kent supports thumbnail images on blog posts. These are known as featured images. To use featured images, edit the post you want to add the featured image to — and then find the box labelled ‘Featured Image’. Click the link titled ‘Set featured image’ and then either select the image or upload a new one using the options provided. Once selected, press ‘Set featured image’. Then click the “update” button to save changes to your post.
Kent has one custom menu area available. By default it is hidden and will display on the side of the site when users click on the menu “hamburger” button in the top left corner of the page. If there is no custom menu configured then the menu will display a list of your site’s pages. To find out more about how to set up your menus, see the Custom Menu documentation.
Kent allows you to add links to your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Tumblr accounts. To do this you must first connect these services to Publicize. Go to Settings → Sharing, and add connections to your accounts. Once connected, navigate to the Customizer, where you’ll find a new Connect panel. Select the account(s) you want to link to, and their respective icons will be displayed.
Kent makes use of WordPress custom header functionality. The image used should be a square shape. You should keep in mind when selecting your image that the top, bottom, and sides of the image will be hidden depending upon the device being used to browse the site – so any important information should be kept as close to the middle as possible.
