Album - Post editor

Adding Albums and Music

To add music to your site, you’ll create Posts with the Audio post format. You can create a category for your Albums, and in our demo sample, we’ve created a category titled “Albums.” Here’s how to add albums and music, step by step:

  1. Create a new Post.
  2. Add a title for your album post. Add your album content within the post editor.
  3. Ensure that you select the Audio post format.
  4. Set a Category for your Albums. The Album page template will display all posts that use the Audio post format.
  5. Add a Featured Image for your Album. These featured images should be square, at 580 x 580 pixels.
  6. Click Publish to save changes.
  7. NOTE: You can select a featured album in the Customizer that will allow that album to be available in the top player on every page of your site. The featured album will also appear on the homepage, if enabled through the Customizer.

Adding songs to an Album is as easy as attaching them to that post. Any song that is attached to your Audio Posts will be automatically pulled in.

Album - Mp3 uploads

Adding Music to your Album in the post editor

  1. Inside the same Post editor page, select Add Media.
  2. Here, you can upload new songs, or select songs that were previously uploaded.
  3. Once selected, you can close the media window and save the post. This will attach those media files to the post.
  4. You can reorder your uploaded MP3s within the Media Uploader by clicking and dragging the files around.
  5. Note: Ensure that you uploaded MP3s and not other audio file types.
  6. Click Update to save changes.

  4. Add a Featured Image for your Show post. For our demo, we’ve added Featured Images that display the show’s location on a map. However, you may also add a featured image that displays the show’s gig poster or ad. These featured images should be square images, at 470 x 470 pixels.
  5. Click Publish to save changes.
