The Kingdom of Little Wounds


The Kingdom of Little Wounds by Susann Cokal, is what the author calls a “fairy tale about Syphilis”. This dark story mainly follows the lives of three women: The Queen of the Kingdom who seems to be going a bit mad and who’s children are dying from the “french disease” , Ava Bingen, a young seamstress for the queen who makes one little mistake and in turn gets caught up in the horrors of court, and Mini Sorte, a mute slave who rises from the ranks of nursry maid to the queen’s handmaiden. 145 more words
