That's A Bingo!!

My blog name “I Should Be Playing Bingo”  is in memory of playing bingo with my Mum and Nana many years ago when I was a young Duchess.I loved the excitement of going to the bingo halls in the 70s!The bingo games would be held at schools,football clubs,churches and back then there was a special venue just for bingo at Fortitude Valley-aka The Valley,Brisbane.I can still smell the ciggy smell wafting over us as we had our eyes down on our book of lucky numbers and ready to dob with coloured markers.And who could forget the caller who would call out the numbers with their little sayings.My favorites were 66- clickety click,21-key of the door and legs 11 followed by a wolf whistle.But the biggest thrill was when you won a game and got the money,your legs were shaking for a whole $5.00.The $500 and $1000 jackpots at the valley were the best though.Added to my exciting bingo outing were the scones,cakes,vending machines and a flask of coffee or a bought coffee in grown ups polystyrene cups. 78 more words
