Duane Hanson at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery

The Duane Hanson private view, at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, could be the beginning of some beautiful (if awkward) friendships, as the patrons surveying the art are themselves eyed up by the artist’s disarming hyperreal sculptures: a black cleaning lady balefully stares back at a well-heeled couple, a rugged Marlboro Man of a cowboy stands guard alongside a security guard and a jean-clad painter meets the gaze of some decidedly more dapper attendees. 324 more words
