Questa fotografia ritrae una delle statue della Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi realizzata da Bernini, rivolta verso la chiesa di Sant’Agnese in agone di Borromini.

La fotografia mi è stata ispirata da una leggenda popolare che riguarda la rivalità tra Bernini e Borromini: la statua del Bernini (che rappresenta il Rio Della Plata), sembra volersi riparare da qualcosa, e quel qualcosa è proprio la chiesa del Borromini.  99 more words

The next James Bond movie (“Spectre”) starts filming a set of sequences in Rome today!  Attention ragazzi!  If you want to catch a glimpse of Daniel Craig, Dave Bautista (Drax!), Christophe Waltz, Ralph Fiennes (maybe), Ben Wishaw, check out these sites – conveniently located in your final project zones – the Vatican, Piazza Navona, near the Galleria Barberini, Piazza Navona, Via Quattro Fontane; apparently there are some cranes set up for a “thrilling car chase that ends in the Tiber.”  Don’t stalk the actors and watch out for paparazzi when crossing the street. 7 more words
