Junia & Jonathan: Winter Wonderland

The snow was falling and it was a seasonal -30C (with windchill)… what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than doing outdoor activities in true Canadian fashion?… Junia and Jon’s love for each other (and Canada) was on full display…  these two made -30C feel like -20C (the difference is quite significant :))… in any case, it was a perfect day to ‘chill’ outside, put on some skates and plow through the powdery, white fluff… it never gets old… :)

Birding with the Fords, Day 5 – Carara National Park

Oct, 29th. We went out for a short walk before breakfast, we did the road outside the lodge where there was a lot of activity, we saw some new species for our trip list including Black-headed Trogon, Rose-throated Becard, Roadside Hawk, Nutting’s Flycatcher, Striped-headed Sparrow and Crane Hawk, which was probably the best bird of the morning; I notice this bird comes back every evening to a perch where it seems to roost. 344 more words
