針對歐盟領袖警告,如果公投結果為反對,意味希臘恐將離開歐元區,齊普拉斯不以為然地向2萬5000名熱情支援者表示:「我們不單是決定留在歐洲,我們還將決定在歐洲有尊嚴的存活。」

40歲的齊普拉斯說:「我呼籲全民投反對票,不要懼怕外人的脅迫,沒有人能忽視我們的的熱情與樂觀。」

但在僅隔800公尺不遠處,有大約2萬名支援投「贊成票」的民眾被警方手持防暴盾隔離,他們高呼親歐口號,表達他們擔心齊普拉斯若一意孤行,希臘恐將出走歐元區的疑慮。

43歲的醫師尼克斯(Nikos)說:「他們不能再假裝希臘不會出走歐元區,離開歐元區,希臘恐陷入萬劫不復境地。」

70歲的退休大學教授科學普及托普羅斯(George Koptopoulos)表示:「不能再這樣下去了,希臘政府已經負債纍纍。」
