We went to Assisi, the birthplace of Saint Francis. This Gothic styled Basilica di San Francesco is situated on a hill. It has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2000.


From Tuscany to Umbria, taking in Siena, San Gimignano, Assisi and Spoleto...but still finding the time on this itinerary to soak it all up.
