Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) by Steve Byland

I’m always surprised by the size of the female Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) compared to the male. When the female shows up at the feeder, I find it much harder to squeeze her into the frame.
