Back to Support Content and Media Blocks Post Carousel Block

Post Carousel Block

Use the Post Carousel block to display a slider of posts, pages, projects, or testimonials anywhere on your site. This guide will show you how to use it.

Add a Post Carousel Block

To add a Post Carousel block, click on the + block inserter icon and search for the Post Carousel block. Click to add the block to a page, post, or template.

If you have a plugin-enabled site, make sure the WordPress.com Editing Toolkit plugin is active on your site at Plugins → Installed Plugins. If your site does not support plugins, the Post Carousel block is already available to you.

For more information, visit our detailed instructions on adding blocks.

Choose Your Content

After inserting the block, you will have a slideshow of your most recent blog posts. For a post to be displayed, it must meet the following requirements:

In the Post Carousel block settings, you can customize which posts appear and how they appear, and you can choose different types of content other than posts. See the next section of this guide to learn how to customize the block settings.

Post Carousel Block Settings

When you select a block, you will find additional block settings in the right sidebar. If you do not see the sidebar, you may need to click the Settings icon in the top-right corner to bring up the settings. This icon looks like a square with two uneven columns:

Additional Post Statuses

You can optionally enable drafts and scheduled content to appear in the slider. As these types of posts are not visible to the public, they will only appear when the carousel is viewed by users with editing permission on your site. This is useful for editors and admins to see how a piece of content will appear in the carousel before it is published.
