The GIF block allows you to easily search for and embed an animated GIF image from Giphy directly into a post or page on your site.

Add the GIF Block

Add the GIF block to a page or post by clicking on the + Block Inserter and searching for GIF. Alternatively, you can type /gif on a new line and press enter.

Using the GIF Block

Enter a search term for your GIF and click Search.

You’ll see a large GIF and a row of thumbnail images. The large GIF is the GIF that will be displayed on your site.

Click a thumbnail to select the GIF you want to display, then optionally enter a caption that will display below the GIF.

If you want to find a different GIF, enter a new search term in the search bar and click Search.

If you know the exact URL of the GIF you want from you can enter that in the search bar to display that specific GIF.

The GIF block only displays 10 search results. For more GIFs, try searching on and entering a Giphy URL in the block’s search bar.

Block Toolbar

The GIF block toolbar shows the options to align the GIF to the left, center, or right. It also includes wide and full-width options if supported by your theme.
