We take care of the rest! The video will look something like this:
Embedding with a Shortcode
You can also embed using use a shortcode.
First, find a Dailymotion video you would like to use. Here is an example:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8oma9_warp-whistle_shortfilms
In your web browser’s address bar, copy the highlighted portion of the video’s URL illustrated below (this is the video’s ID):
In this example, the ID would be x8oma9, as you can see above.
Create a new post or page on your blog (or open an existing post or page in editing mode) and add the following shortcode directly to the visual editor. Replace the x8oma9
video ID with the one you are using.
You can add a shortcode to any page or post using a shortcode block.
After publishing, the video will look similar to the one below.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure the Dailymotion link is not hyperlinked. If the URL is shown in your theme’s link color (as the second line in the screenshot below), then it is hyperlinked. Simply click URL and click the “Remove” icon.
Once the URL is unlinked, you will see the link text in black. - Make sure to place the Dailymotion URL or shortcode on its own line. This means there should be no character or whitespace before or after the URL/shortcode.
