SlideShare Slideshows
SlideShare offers users the ability to upload and share publicly or privately PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and Adobe PDF Portfolios.
The instructions from this guide are referring to the Classic Editor. If you are using the Block Editor, please use the Slideshare block. See how to insert a block here.
Notably, if you want to customize your Slideshare embed even in the Block Editor, please use the Shortcode block to insert the shortcode. See the Customizing section below for more on how to customize the SlideShare embed.
Embedding a Slideshow
To embed a slideshow from SlideShare, please follow this guide.
- Visit SlideShare to create your own slideshow – or find one that already exists. When viewing the slideshow, click the sharing arrow in the bottom left corner of the presentation.
- A popup will appear above the slideshow. Copy the code from the field titled “WordPress Shortcode”. It should look like this: ‘[slideshare id=…’.
- Paste the code into a post or page on your blog and publish it. If you are using the block editor, you can add a shortcode to any page or post using a shortcode block. The slideshow will look similar to the one below.
Customizing
You can also change the width and height of your slideshow by adding these parameters &w=650&h=500 to the end of the shortcode.
Example: If you use this shortcode your slideshow will be displayed at 650px wide and 500px high.
