Shortcodes
A shortcode is akin to a shortcut to add features to your website that would typically require lots of complicated computer code and technical ability.
A shortcode is written inside two square brackets. For example, the [youtube]
shortcode can be used to embed any public YouTube video into any page or post.
Below you’ll find a list of all the shortcodes available on WordPress.com. In addition, many third-party plugins (which you can install on the WordPress.com Pro plan or the legacy Business and eCommerce plans) use shortcodes too.
You can read the specific instructions for assembling the shortcode, then add the shortcode to any page or post using a shortcode block.
