Manage My Profile

Your profile is the information you’d like to be shown along with your name when you comment on WordPress.com sites.

Find Your Profile

You can update your profile by visiting the My Profile page. To find this page, click on your profile picture in the top right corner of WordPress.com:

The information on your profile applies to all sites owned by your account. This information is publicly accessible by anyone on the internet, so you should only enter information that you are comfortable sharing with everyone (regardless of whether your site is set to private or not).

Update Your Profile

You can update the following fields in your profile:

  • First name: Your first name (optional).
  • Last name: Your last name (optional).
  • Public Display Name: This is how you would like your name to display publicly. Your WordPress.com username is shown by default, but you might prefer your first name or a nickname instead.
  • About Me: A brief bio or other information you’d like to display on your profile (optional).

Profile Photo

Your Profile Photo will display with your comments, likes, and other activity on WordPress.com sites, or any site using Gravatar.

You can update your profile photo by moving your mouse over your current photo, and clicking Click to change photo.

Profile Links are links to websites that appear on your WordPress.com profile.

In the Profile Links section, click the + Add button to add a new site to your profile. You can remove any sites by clicking the X next to it:

How My Profile Displays

Now that you’ve set up your profile, try leaving a comment or liking a post! You’ll see that your Profile Photo appears next to your Public Display Name.

When you hover your cursor over your Gravatar, you’ll see a hovercard with your profile information:

Click on that, and you’ll be taken to your complete Profile:
