If you use Google Photos to store your pictures, you can quickly copy your photos to your website. This guide will show you how to connect your WordPress.com account to Google Photos.

Connect to Google Photos

To connect your Google Photos account to WordPress.com, take the steps below.

Select the appropriate tab for your admin interface style:

Default ViewWP-Admin

1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
2. Navigate to Tools → Marketing.
3. Click on the “Connections” tab.
4. Scroll down to the “Manage connections” section.
5. Next to Google Photos, click the “Connect” button.
6. A pop-up will appear for you to choose your Google account. Continue through the prompts and click the “Allow” button to approve the connection:

Your Google Photos account is now connected!

1. Visit your site’s WP-Admin dashboard.
2. Navigate to Hosting → Connections.
3. Scroll down to the “Manage connections” section.
4. Next to Google Photos, click the “Connect” button.
5. A pop-up will appear for you to choose your Google account. Continue through the prompts and click the “Allow” button to approve the connection:

Your Google Photos account is now connected!

Your Google Photos will now be accessible to all sites in your WordPress.com account. If you have added other users to your site, they will not have access to your Google Photos. Other users can connect their own Google Photos account.

If you are a Google Workspace user, your access to Google Photos must be enabled by your account administrator.

Add Google Photos to Your Site

You can access your Google Photos library on WordPress.com using one of two ways: via the WordPress editor and via Media. Each method is explained below.

Insert Google Photos in the Editor

While editing a page or post on your site, you can add images from Google Photos by taking the following steps:

1. Edit any page or post in the WordPress editor.
2. Add any block that uses images, such as the Image block, the Gallery block, or the Cover block.
3. Click the “Select Image” option.
4. Select “Google Photos” from the list:

5. A window will appear with your Google Photos. Click on any image and click the “Select” button to insert it onto your page. If you’re creating a gallery, you can select multiple images simultaneously.

Add Google Photos to Media

You can access your Google Photos via your site’s Media by taking the steps below. (This option is available if using the Default View, not WP-Admin.)

1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
2. Navigate to Media.
3. Select the image icon in the upper-left corner and select “Google Photos“:

4. A window will appear with your Google Photos:

5. Select as many photos as you want by clicking on them once.
6. Click the “Copy to media library” button. Your media will be copied into your WordPress site’s Media.

Any images you add to your site from Google Photos will count against your site’s storage capacity.

Disconnect Google Photos

To remove your connection to Google Photos, take the steps below.

Select the appropriate tab for your admin interface style:

1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
2. Navigate to Tools → Marketing.
3. Click on the “Connections” tab.
4. Scroll down to the “Manage connections” section.
5. Next to Google Photos, click the “Disconnect” button.

3. Scroll down to the “Manage connections” section.
4. Next to Google Photos, click the “Disconnect” button.

If you wish to change the Google Photos account you have connected, you can disconnect it following the steps above and then connect another account.
