About the design

A Notebook for Quiet Words

The design was inspired by an open-source project by TypeTogether to catalog handwriting styles taught in primary education worldwide.

The templates are characterized by their minimalism and restrained color palette, creating a distraction-free, clean reading experience. They resemble personal notebooks with a lined-paper background, focusing on words through typography. The layout promotes intimacy, making it suitable for journals, poetry, essays, and reflective writing.

Typography and Color

Primarium centers on Playwrite, a handwriting-inspired typeface from the earlier-mentioned project. It conveys the warmth and rhythm of handwritten forms, creating a personal, handcrafted feel. The font scale is limited: one base size for body text, with slight variations for titles, aligned to a notebook line grid, emphasizing its analog, deliberate character.
