Your WordPress footer is one of the most valuable but often overlooked parts of a website. While it may not receive as much visitor attention as the top-navigation menu, it’s still important for you to give this section a little love.

Because your footer stays the same from page to page, it’s important to ensure that it’s well-designed and contains helpful navigation information you’d want visitors to have access to at any time. For example, this is where you might include links to your “About Me” or “Contact” pages — even if these pages are linked in the header, too.
Most WordPress themes include user-friendly administrator panels to help you quickly and easily customize the look and feel of your headers. You can generally add and customize footer columns, which can be helpful if you’d like to include multiple sets of links.
The WordPress footer is also an excellent place to add additional calls-to-action or conversion opportunities. For example, if you’re hoping to get visitors to subscribe to your email newsletter, you could add an email field. Or, if you’re running a nonprofit organization, you might use this space to request donations.
Feel free to get creative with your WordPress footer, but don’t make the mistake of wasting this valuable chunk of space by not using it at all!
