Bio
He began his over 25-year management career in 1994 with Wachovia Corporation. He joined Wachovia within Wachovia Operational Services Corporation as a management trainee in the elite WOSC Management Training Program. (WOSC was affectionately pronounced as Wah-see). After only six months, he moved quickly through the management ranks becoming one of the fastest supervisors to be promoted to Banking Officer. He held a number of management positions before being named Unit Manager of Georgia and Florida High Speed Check Processing and being promoted to Vice President for Banking Operations.
In 2004, he joined Wells Fargo and Company within the Wells Fargo Services Corporation (WFSC). Within an initial assignment as an operational management advisor, he evaluated the operational efficiency of the Proof of Deposit department of Item Processing. Within this role, he designed the centralization of the check image data entry process, consolidating the processes from 16 processing centers into 2 processing centers, reducing direct expenses by over $18MM with an annual net savings of $1.5 MM after payback.
In 2005, he was asked to lead the Southwest Hub managing Item Processing, Statement Processing, and Return Items Processing for Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. Later in 2005, he began managing the new Enterprise Payment Operations Central Region, implementing his aforementioned design for centralization of remote image keying and proof of deposit balancing, leading the new region, and coordinating the reassignment of 200 team members from 16 sites. In 2006, he became Western Region Area Manager of Enterprise Payment Operations’ Item Processing managing a multi-shift, multi-site, multi-departmental operation with over 700 direct staff servicing 11 states and an additional 500 indirect staff servicing 15 states with a total budget over $100 MM.
In 2010, he decided to leave Wells Fargo for family reasons. He moved back to his home in Georgia and returned to Burroughs Management Consulting (BMC) which he had founded in 2003. After joining WFSC, he remained on the board of directors but left the day-to-day operations of BMC to his partners. He served as a non-managing partner until 2010 when he returned to the company’s day-to-day operations as its Managing Partner.
In October of 2015, BMC and JFCC entered into an agreement to merge, creating a comprehensive personal development and business management organization. The merger and creation of the new Burroughs & Jones Counseling and Consulting, LLC was completed in February of 2016, and he was named as the combined company’s chief executive officer.
He is on the board of directors of the Southside Positive Intervention Coalition for Education Corporation.
A Georgia native, he earned his Associate degree in accounting from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton, GA, his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, and his Master of Business Administration degree in management from Northcentral University, Scottsdale, AZ.
