WordPress websites and hosting.
-
Dear WordPress.com representative,
I have a few websites hosted by a hosting service and am presently considering the transfer of these sites to a different host. The sites are all (or almost all) WordPress sites. The reason for the transfer is my less than positive experience with their ability to host the sites without technical problems and their knowledge of issues that relate to WordPress. I have a few questions:
1. Do you offer these services? Can I transfer my existing WordPress sites to WordPress.com and how easy would it be to transfer both the site files and the database for each?
2. What is the cost associated with such service?
3. May I use my own existing domain name?
4. Some of these sites are password protected and I would like to keep them private. Do you offer the option o assign username and password to each different user authorized to access and view WordPress sites?Thank you,
Joseph Chamberlain

1. You can transfer those sites to us following this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/
2. You can find our prices at https://wordpress.com/pricing/
3. We have two options for using a domain you already own with a site here:
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
4. You do have the option to keep the sites private: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/
