wordpress links doesn’t show up properly on facebook

    hello wordpress support team,

    I am not able to post my wordpress link correctly to promote it on my facebook page as before.
    I have this problem for three weeks now.
    Even though I attach my wordpress link right it doesn’t show up with my profile picture and the first lines of my column.
    Since the April it’s just attaching the plain link without a pic or teasing pre-read.
    So by now my clicks dropped enormously ‘cuz my facebook fans can’t identify my posts very quickly – the plain link doesn’t attract so much attention.
    Before this problem I had a lot more clicks on my blog.
    Previously the number of clicks did match to the number of referrers.
    In addition to that my stats just show only “one” and always the same referrer – like every day the same facebook friend of mine.

    But I had a lot more than just “one” click from my friend.
    I asked this certain friend and she wasn’t on my wordpress page at all.
    So what causes this problem?
    Is it that I’ve first added the wordpress application to facebook and vice versa but later on I’ve decided to remove this app again so it messed up everything?!
    Is this a temporary problem with wordpress or can I change something in the settings section to avoid such problems and make my links show up properly again as before on facebook and of course enable the correct referrers feed again as well???

    Yesim,

    I’ve had a few issues from time to time with Facebook not resolving links properly ie thumbnails don’t show but generally they’re OK. If you’re pasting links directly onto your Facebook Walls and it’s messed up, I think that’s a FB issue rather than WP. I’ve recently pasted a few links off my blog and they appeared the way I expected them to.

    You should be able to select a different thumbnail or none. The text issue is a more complicated matter. Facebook chooses it’s own snippet of text, which can sometimes be not the part that you want. The only way around that is reordering how text appears on your page.

    Facebook has made some very demented changes recently; your best course of action is to complain to Facebook and wait it out.

    I noticed that when I had Twitter updates in my sidebar, FB would render the most recent tweet onto my wall post’s “text summary” when I paste my url. That irritated me a bit so I had the Twitter widget removed and now it just renders my copyright note. But, you do know you can edit the summary, right? Just move the mouse pointer to the text, click it once and it becomes editable.

    Whenever I post a link in my Facebook fan page, the WordPress link — when clicked on — takes the reader to a page that says “Oops … where did you get such a link?” (page not found).

    This wasn’t always the case — I’ve had my WordPress links on Facebook perform successfully. This problem only started about 3 weeks ago. Is there anyway this can be fixed — or do you think WordPress is aware of the problem? I also rely on my Facebook page to direct fans to my website — and I’m starting to look like a prat by having my links appear broken.

    By the way, links aren’t working only with WordPress. Any other URLs outside of WordPress seem to work fine. So it’s got to be a WordPress problem, not a Facebook one.
