WordPress Hosting plans

  • I want to create a site and need help but there is no live chat support or any agent with whom I can discuss for creating a site using WordPress hosting services.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  • Wordpress.com doesn’t have phone support. Live Chat is only available if you have a Premium plan or higher on a yearly base.
You find pricing and features of the wordpress.com plans at https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  • Without discussion how can I know which plan is better for me, so there must be a live chat option for discussing and knowing each and everything before selecting a plan. I have some confusion that’s why unable to select a plan.

  • You can post your questions in this public forum.

  • It’s not really too complicated as there aren’t really too many options. You can create a free site if you just want to test out WordPress.com. Mny people are happy with that and have well established free sites. If you’d rather have a custom domain address and no ads on your site then the Personal plan is the one for you. If you want further options of customization and the chance to upload videos to your site then there is the Premium plan. If you have a business and wish to sell things, or want all the bells and whistles along with the ability to add plugins to your site then it would be the Business/eCommerce plan.

  • In fact, I don’t have too much knowledge about creating a site and just want to create a site by adding 3-5 articles, so I want to ask
1- Which plan is best for me with the least expenses? I want to pay on monthly basis
2-Would you help me for creating a site like installing WordPress or anything else? (After creating a site I know how to work on a WordPress site)
3-Does all plans price include SSL certificate charges?
4-Can I choose or convert to any other plan any time after creating a site?
5-How many plugins can we add using a personal or premium plan? as some plugins are essential like for security or SEO purposes
6-Plans include “earn ad revenue” Is this revenue from ads posted by WordPress itself or any other platform like Google Adsense etc after getting registered with? 7- If not having SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and database access, would it affect my work too much?

  • 1. Why not start with a free plan with a site address subdomain ending in .wordpress.com? Paying monthly for any upgraded plan is an expensive way of doing things compared to paying annually. Better to try things out first.
    2. There are loads of support documents like https://wordpress.com/support/start/ and if you get stuck on something in particular you can ask for adice in this forum.
    3. SSL is included here even with free sites.
    4. You can upgrade plans at any time.
    5. Useful plugins are already pre-loaded. SEO is well covered too. If you must have your own plugins on a site here you’d need to jump straight in with a Business plan.
6, WordPress.com has its own WordAds programme. You’d need a Premium plan for that. You’d need a Business plan to run AdSense.
    7. WordPress.com is designed to be user friendly so most plans don’t involve messing with stuff like SFTP. If you want to though, then again you’d need a Business plan:

  • Hi there,

Given that you want to run ads on your site, I would recommend that you start with the Premium plan ($14/month) as that is the lowest plan we offer ad revenue on.

Please note that to have ads on your site you must also use a custom domain (not possible to use the wordpress.com address we assign to your site) so in addition to the monthly cost of the Premium Plan you will also want to factor in the cost of the domain itself. Most domains are $18 USD per year.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Thanks for reply

please tell me what are the requirements for earning through WordPress ads? like certain numbers of visitors or impressions etc

and besides SEO plugin, don’t we need even a security plugin if we get hosting using the premium plan?

  • Hi there,

please tell me what are the requirements for earning through WordPress ads? like certain numbers of visitors or impressions etc

To participate in our WordAds program, you need to be on our Premium Plan.

The number of visitors to your site will influence how much you earn from ads, but we don’t have any minimum traffic requirement before you’re allowed to participate – once you upgrade to Premium you’re automatically approved for WordAds.

and besides SEO plugin, don’t we need even a security plugin if we get hosting using the premium plan?

The Premium Plan does not allow you to install any plugins, but you don’t need either a SEO or a security plugin.

All WordPress.com sites, even on our free plan, come configured for SEO already, and our SEO is among the best on the web. On our Business Plan you have the option of installing a SEO plugin if you wanted more direct control over your site’s SEO settings, but that’s not necessary at all.

And all WordPress.com sites have the same level of security, which includes protection against brute-force attacks, malware scans, and more.
