Why isn't Markdown working?
-
Hi, I’ve been trying to use Markdown to implement footnotes on my blog. However, when I type it in to the visual editor it doesn’t seem to render footnotes at all, just raw plaintext, and when I try to click the “Preview” button it doesn’t do anything either.
I’m not sure if the syntax on the reference sheet is wrong or if I’m typing it wrong, but there’s clearly something up with it. Also, if I have to publish my blog post in order to be able to see the Markdown, then that’s a really, really shoddy excuse for a preview screen…
Hope you can help.

Hi there,
Can you please provide a link to (or the title in the case of a draft) the post where you’re trying to add the footnote?
I tested this and it’s working for me, showing the footnote correctly in both the pop-up and full page previews. Please make sure you’re using the correct syntax:
This is [^1] some text. [^1]: this is a footnote
