Why is my stats so low?

We are using WP-Stats (included with Jetpack), Google Anlytics and Effective Measure on maroelamedia.co.za. Everyday we follow in realtime the number of pageviews with Google Analytics and WP-Stats. WP-Stats has a great widget for WordPress’s Dashboard.

The problem is that suddenly for today there is a huge difference between the number of pageviews on GA and WP-Stats.

Is there a problem with WP-Stats, has our IT department blocked a domain that hosts the stats and prevent us to see the correct numbers, or where is the problem.

I checked that the plugin is active and the number of pageviews are climbing slower than usual.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Flagged for staff attention

Definitely an issue. Normally I do 1-2k views per day. Today, I’ve done 340.

http://maroelamedia.co.za/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM.
WordPress.COM. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Some JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the Theme support forums there.

However, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

Your blog is hosted by WordPress.COM. If you are sure your stats need to be investigated then you need to be specific and post details here so Staff know exactly which stats you are referring to when they get to this thread.

You can post screenshots and share them with Staff. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

We are volunteers and have some pretty wise people but unless you tell us what GA is reporting and specifically what WP is reporting, how can we possibly help you?

That looks like a problem to me. It seemed to suddenly die around 8-9pm UK time on the third Dec. I’ve posted twice today.

All I can assume is something isn’t being counted somewhere.

Thanks for posting that for Staff. They work forward from the threads with the earliest date stamps and time stamps to the most recent ones so please be patient while waiting for them to examine your stats.

I’ll open a ticket at the Jetpack support forums at http://jetpack.me/contact-support/. It can be quite confusing to know on which forum to post.

    FYI yesterday’s stats comparison:

    Jetpack’s WP-Stats – 52,573
    Google Analytics – 129,439
    Effective Measure – 115,227

My statistics do not work. Even when I enter the blog as a visitor (when I am not signed in),
my page view is not registered.

My blog statistics are not working in the proper way. I had problems yesterday and today it seems it is happening the same. They are much lower than expected for those days. I would like to know if it’s posible to examine and mend it and update the visits lost. My blog is
I enclose the links with visit problems.
I am looking forward to your answer

I have no page hits from the UK today. Normally UK is always second to USA in number of hits. I asked someone to log onto my site from the UK but there is still no recorded hit. Seems to be a problem somewhere with a counter!

There is definitely something wrong with the wordpress stat counter at the moment – I have found that stats are working on and off intermittently. A new post would bring at least a couple of hundred views for me and wordpress was showing approximately 30. Based on this hunch, I installed stat counter. Since installing stat counter yesterday, it says I have had over 200 hits. WordPress counted another 34 in those same hours.

    My blog is http://www.tinyrunner.org.uk

Also, I know that people have been accessing my blog via bloglovin over the last couple of days, yet wordpress shows that not a single view has come from bloglovin. Stat counter backs up that I had at least 10 clicks through bloglovin on the 4th December.

Please take this issue seriously as something is definitely not correct.

My experience of site traffic seems to match brownhillsbob.

I run insidecroydon.com, and the last two days have seen all evidence of anyone visiting the site vanish.

Another site I run (but not via wordpress, although it uses many of the same tools, including jetpack) has also gone unusually quiet over the last couple of days.

There are multiple threads in the forums now, reflecting the fact that the UK is awake and checking stats. Clearly there is a problem. I’m directing everyone to this thread as it has been flagged for staff attention.

Over the last day, my stats from the Uk have decreased a lot. Today, I haven’t had one view. What is happening to my stats?
