Why is Google Analytics only available for “business” users?

It doesn’t make any sense to me as to why it is only made available to business users. Google Analytics is a free service, at the least by me paying $96 dollars a year, I should be able to add a tracking code to my site. It’s one of the only reasons why I would ever consider leaving WordPress.com and using another service.

The blog I need help with is the-trio.net.

    Hi there,

You’re correct that you need a Business Plan to use Google Analytics, and for the reason why, I’m going to cite what @matt has said here: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/google-analytics-for-wordpress-com-business-sites/

Because analytics are most frequently needed by more advanced or business users, and it also makes the business plan more valuable for its users, or compelling for someone to upgrade to it.

You’re still able to use the default stats offered by WordPress.com though: https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

If this is an issue still, you might wish to consider using the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com: https://get.wp.com

Let us know if you have any further questions or issues. :)
