Why is "freshly pressed" stuck?
ummmm – hello? Anybody out there? Has time stopped in wordpress world? Been seeing the same posts when I log-in for at least a week and support seems to be shut-down through the end of the month – just concerned… is everything OK?
Staff are away currently and that may be the reason why Freshly Pressed post are not being updated.
Support is closed while the company meets up and works together for the next week. We will be back on October 29th. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Also note that searching is the first thing to do as questions you may be about to ask have probably already been asked and answered.
I appreciate this info, and now I know it’s not just my computer. Seems like wordpress should have put up some big headlines saying that they were on a working vacation; then we would have known what’s up.
In retrospect I think that may have been a good idea too. It would save us Volunteers from having to post the same information into thread after thread, and it would sav our fellow bloggers from confusion, and from thinking something it wrong with their computers.
It would had been nice they said something. I had thought wordpress gave up and now everyone is Tumbling instead.
One can easily find new blogs that interest them by doing global tags searches and the format for global tag searches is found here. In addition we can use WordPress.com Search. And, we can also use Google search.

THANK YOU! I thought I was going nuts. Never realized how many Freshly Pressed posts I enjoy throughout the week. Can’t wait to get them back. Would love to see my name freshly pressed someday :)
You’re welcome. You made me lol :D as I don’t want my posts to be Freshly Pressed and experience a high bounce rate that skews my stats, and as I rarely ever even look at that page. There are many different kind of bloggers — different stroked for different folks. Best wishes to all of you. :)
@timethief Actually, I notice the tags seem to be having issues too. They are showing up the same blogs that they were last week. For example for the tag ART it is the same blogs showing as it were the week before. Something is wrong and it very much reflects badly on wordpress. Honestly, the reason why I liked wordpress over blogger was because it was suppose to be easy to navigate and you could always find something new under the tags. But this week reflected badly and it makes wordpress seem like a ghost town.
I’m sorry you feel that way. Staff are very busy working behind the scenes. It’s not as if they are vacationing. These meet-ups are joint work efforts. There’s lots of coding going on and when they return we shall see more changes. In between I hope you try using the three search options to locate other blogs of interest to you.
By the way your username is linked to a blog you deleted. To link it to your active blog is easily done. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And, every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
Thank you for the tip, but that was purposely done. I am not looking for people to visit my blog right now.
I understand the staff is ‘busy’ but this is part of their job. There has to be balance and it has obviously has failed. There is no excuse for this. I have worked for plenty of small businesses before. Typically someone has to stay at the front line and keep things working no matter what.
The Freshly Pressed choices are selected by Staff based on this criteria.
If you want to locate other .wordpress.com blogs of interest to you then I have provided the information you can use to do that with above.
If you want to provide feedback directly to Staff about how the business is run then you can do that by using this link on October 29th.
No. I also think they could have programmed ahead and also announce that instead of fresh Freshly Pressed they would publish old Freshly Pressed that were particularly successful.
I don’t go there regularly, but thought that my computer was spooking when I saw it stuck.
Sorry about that, the normal folks who look after that are off right now. I’ve bumped a few but if you’ve seen any amazing WP.com posts you think should be on there drop me an email.
