Why haven't my new nameservers taken affect?
-
I am moving from a wordpress.com hosted blog with a mapped domain to my own webhost.
However, it’s been longer than 24 hours since I changed my wordpress.com domain’s nameservers to my new webhost’s nameservers, and the domain still points to my wordpress.com blog.
I realize that it says the transfer can take up to 48 hours, but it typically only takes 2 or 3 hours to take affect. I’m wondering if I forgot a step somewhere along the lines. The nameservers are correct under the Domain Settings.
My mapped domain is shootingfromthehip.net. My wordpress.com URL is shootingfromthehipdotnet.wordpress.com.
Thanks.

http://shootingfromthehip.net/ is properly displaying a site elsewhere.
It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
