When is a wordpress blog not a wordpress blog?

  • So I’m using wordpress for a new site http://www.dumpprep.com. I opened a Gravatar account so that I could have a profile picture associated with my posts (because right now it’s just a big question mark where a picture should be). I tried using a couple of the wordpress profile pic plugins, but found both of them buggy. What’s bizarre is that my Gravatar shows up in the Dashboard, but not on the post. Equally strange is that my blog isn’t associated with wordpress apparently as it doesn’t recognize me or my blog. I had to create a new user account on WordPress.com in order to post this message.

Can someone help with this? I am thoroughly perplexed.

  • Yeah, that’s the point Support bot thingy.

Anyone help me out with this?

We cannot help your here at WordPress.COM because our software is different from yours. You have to post to the correct support forum for your software and it where the support bot points to > http://wordpress.ORG/support/

  • A self-hosted wordpress blog such as http://www.dumpprep.com/ , is completely stand-alone. It is not in anyway connected to wordpress.org or anywhere else.

  • If you read the links the bot gave and TT repeated, you’ll have your answer.

  • That last sentence should read, “it is not in anyway connected to wordpress.com or anywhere else.”
