Weighing a Hosted wordpress acct options for a self-learner with pocket change
-
Hello.
Just wanted to send you a quick clarification email. I have about 15 domains parked at go daddy with website builders and I want to transition everything into wordpress builders. I have asked them-but what is the point of a hosted wordpress account through go daddy (they have plenty of money) So here is an example–In theory-I could grab all the content off of say michaelenzo.com build/transition it onto a wordpress site, then domain map from them into the domain hosted there?Or is the point of the wordpress hosted account, that I interface totally with Go daddy? Finally, one of the only features I like with the website builder is being able to paste html into any box and drive affiliate links, analytics, etc. Do you know anyway to do that in wordpress? Or would I essentially produce static pages? And if so-do I then need to select a theme that looks like something I want? Or can I open code and put it on the page (something I am terrible at)
And finally-if you want to do a trial run. I can try and domain map bdehaven.wordpress.com over to dehavenben.com.
But then my final question is what does that do to search results? Currently I have the blog feed embeded into bdehaven.com on the landing page? I’m not sure if the search engine indexes content feeding through the blog feed, because its embedded somewhere else? Does that make sense. Anyone can email me or weigh in. I don’t mind comments such as “you are an idiot” or “hire a professional”
I know this is a lot of questions and I apologize, but I have hired 8 people to build sites and manage social content, everyone has gone running for the hills with the cash. So I am a fast learner, and have some money in a jar I could offer, But I need maybe 10 minutes of hand holding. Is anyone there?
Thanks.

There are two flavors of WordPress. If your interest include using affiliate links and Google analytics, then you want the version where you pay GoDaddy to host your site. Using the WordPress.ORG software is free, but you’ll need a theme. There are thousands of themes available for wp.ORG, some are free while others you will pay for.
On WordPress.COM, the hosting and software is free. But you must comply with the Terms of Service which doesn’t allow you affiliate links etc. There are also restrictions on the type of code you can use. And the available themes are limited to those specifically adapted for our platform.

Here is some information about domain mapping on WordPress.COM:
